We work both ways. For many projects, builders supply materials based on their preferred vendors and specs. In other cases, Dekorwood can source and supply materials, ensuring they meet the agreed quality standards and match existing finishes when necessary.

Yes, we coordinate closely with other trades to sequence our work efficiently. We adapt our schedule to site readiness and protect finished work to avoid damage during subsequent trades’ activities.

It depends on the project and the finish you’re looking for. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) • Pros: Smooth surface for painting, no wood grain, cost-effective, and readily available in consistent profiles. • Cons: Not as impact-resistant as wood, can swell if exposed to moisture, and not suitable for high-humidity or wet areas. Poplar • Pros: Durable, lightweight, resists warping, and takes paint beautifully. Can also be stained for a natural wood look. Better for high-traffic areas where trim may take more abuse. • Cons: Higher cost compared to MDF. Our Recommendation: • For painted finishes in dry, interior spaces: MDF is a great budget-friendly choice. • For durability, longevity, or where moisture is a concern: Poplar is the better investment. • On high-end projects or for heritage restorations, Poplar’s natural durability and versatility make it the preferred choice.
