Framing

Framing

Structural carpentry for extensions, additions, and large-scale renovations — new roof structures, multiplex conversions, and the framing that sets up everything else before any finish can begin. We've taken on jobs like full multiplex extensions with entirely new rooflines, and we bring that same structural rigour to every scope we touch.

Backframing, Wall Modifications, and Structural Carpentry for Renovations

We take on framing as part of our carpentry scope so the handoff between rough and finish stays in one set of hands. Scope changes go in writing before they happen. Your project manager gets updates when phases close.

What It Covers

General Renovation Carpentry: Stair modifications, blocking for fixtures, nailer plates, and structural carpentry that doesn't fall cleanly into another trade's scope.

Wall Modifications: Opening non-load-bearing walls, resizing rough openings, adding partition walls. Coordinated with your structural engineer and GC where load-bearing work is involved.

Rough Opening Adjustments: Resizing door and window openings to fit new units. Standard on renovations where existing openings weren't built to current sizes.

Trade Coordination: We work around your other trades. If drywall is waiting on backframing, we schedule to clear that path first.

Backframing for Millwork and Built-Ins: Blocking, ledgers, nailers, and backing installed before drywall closes. The right material in the right place at the right height.

Why Dekorwood?

We sequence around your other trades, protect what comes next, and keep the project manager in the loop. Framing is only part of what we do — we know how it affects the finish work because we're doing that too.
